Develops engineering work plan for assigned components consistent with program objectives.

Completes all APQP required engineering documents for assigned program content.

Tracks program timing related to design release, tooling, manufacturing, test certification, pilot, and production build schedules for all assigned parts and systems

Initiates Design Work Orders and reviews designs to ensure objectives are maintained.

Assists in developing engineering expenditures required to achieve program objectives. (Submits Purchase requisitions for prototype parts and test properties)

Initiates Shop work orders to develop prototype builds and physical tests

Monitors prototype and pilot build for adherence to design intent identifying and resolving problem areas

Originates or reviews and approves all program engineering releases and change using the Product Change Notification (PCN) process

Attends program core group meetings.

Provides Engineering management with program status updates on a regular basis.

Assists in reviewing and updating corporate engineering procedures

Reviews and updates job performance objectives periodically to reflect new information and new technology.

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering

FEA experience at an OEM or Tier one supplier

Experience Designing and Releasing Body or Chassis structural parts

PC Skills

Excellent Interpersonal and organizational skills

Excellent writing and oral presentation skills

Effective group leadership skills

Knowledge of FMEA, FEA, EPL’s, OEM Engineering Release Process, QS9000

Ability to develop structural targets to meet customer expectations

Ability to develop a work plan to improve vehicle structure to meet targets using sound engineering tools and principles.

Experience with metal stamping feasibility and production metal joining techniques

Experience writing EWO’s or WERS notices
