Supply Manager

Description/Summary:
Reports
to Director, Integrated Supply Chain.
Responsible for
the overall management of material flow as well logistics strategy to directly
support client’s overall strategy and support all operations. This position will
also be responsible for reviewing and renovating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
– finding more innovative ways to measure and report.
Responsibilities:
 | Design
and implement improved material flow within company operations to support
manufacturing/assembly and enhance inbound/outbound freight processes. |
 | Design
and implement improved material flow to support responsible delivery to
OEM’s. |
 | Develop
and implement best practices for the supply base and North America
operations. Areas of focus include POP initiative, self-billing, sequenced
deliveries, and use of ERP/EDI/ASN systems common to the automotive
component business. |
 | Evaluate
and identify potential opportunities for improvements including: increased
delivery frequencies, creation of milk-runs, consolidations and scheduling
of inbound material, and production scheduling (ERP) |
 | Provide
transportation costing and evaluation for products shipping domestically and
internationally, supporting North America quote activity.

 | Support
enterprise efforts during carrier bids, negotiations, and implementation
processes. |
 | Manage
site specific issues and concerns regarding carriers and internal/external
logistics operations. |
 | Direct
and/or maintain site supplier and packaging database for all site locations. |
 | Ability
to identify packaging vs. transportation efficiencies that fit plant
manufacturing strategies. |
 | Ability
to identify areas of improvements and optimize warehousing operations &
activities based upon manufacturing needs and requirements. |
 | Identify
problem areas unable to be solved at the plant level, and lead resolution.

Evaluate, plan, and execute changes in distribution center operations to
meet. |
 | Work
directly with all levels of management and departments to identify,
prioritize and execute improvements in supply chain process. |
 | Act as a
liaison between Material Managers to collect/generate improvement ideas.
Education:
•Bachelor’s Degree in
Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
Position Requirements:
• At least 5 years progressive management experience in Supply Chain or
Materials Management
• Extensive work with an integrated ERP system
• Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment
• Experience developing or assistance in developing strategic operating
plans in materials, supply-chain and operations
