Research Engine Design Engineer
Detroit, MI Metro (SG0802)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Our client, a world class engine development company, seeks an experienced engineer to be responsible for the creative brainstorming and design of advanced diesel and gasoline engine concepts.  These components generally include rotating and reciprocating components, cylinder heads, injection systems, camshafts, boosting systems and engine peripherals.  The Design Engineer is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of new designs and modifications to components and sub-systems.  There will be considerable involvement and responsibility in the analysis, procurement, inspection and validation testing of each project. The Design Engineer will create and maintain engineering documentation, as well as make regular presentations on new technical ideas, identification of risks and methods of implementation. 

 QUALIFICATIONS:

BSME Minimum, MS in Engineering preferred

bullet

Production engine component / system design experience

bullet

Experience in the design of castings and precision machined components

bullet

Knowledge of Pro-E modeling and drafting practices (ASME Y14.5)

bullet

Knowledge of GD&T application

bullet

Theoretical knowledge of the Internal Combustion Engine

bullet

Must have a highly creative ability to design new technical concepts

bullet

Knowledge of prototype manufacturing processes

bullet

Demonstrated teamwork and interpersonal communication skills

bullet

4 years minimum experience in related positions
