REPORTS TO: Director of Program Management

SUMMARY: Our client is a leading automotive supplier of vehicle interior and closure components including cockpit components, doors and panels, seating, overhead, latching, and lift gates.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Serves as overall facilitator for development of the product program. Plans, directs and controls all activities relating to the PDP (APQP, SQA, Engineering, Purchasing and Manufacturing engineering). Recommend, monitor and adjust appropriate plant operating procedures for the purpose of accomplishing the program requirements. Promotes coordination and communication of program team. Conducts all program reviews.

RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITY

	Lead the program team
	Manage the product program proactively to ensure timing and objectives are met for all customer milestones
	Identify and communicate impediments to the successful completion of program milestones
	Interface with required functional disciplines and departments for program support
	Assures appropriate program planning to confirm that product development is consistent with established program objectives and company needs
	Implement tenets of the Product Delivery Process (PDP) and assures completion of all deliverables
	Conducts all phase and gate reviews
	Creates master program timing that satisfies customer and MIS internal requirements for product configuration, cost, performance and timing
	Facilitates Executive-Level interaction between the company, our customer and Plant
	Coordinates and maintains communications with our design and operations staff and our customer for all program activities.
	Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to the product, process and system.
	Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system.
	Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
	Verify the implementation of solutions (Quality System, Drawings & Prototype Product).
	Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.

REQUIREMENTS

Education/Special Knowledge: Bachelor’s Degree in technical engineering field preferably Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. Non-technical four-year degree with substantial manufacturing experience are minimal requirements. Fluent in P.C. applications for cost tracking budgeting and various spreadsheet analyses. Excellent interpersonal skills to include written and verbal communications.

Experience:

	Minimum of 5 years in automotive manufacturing/engineering environment with prior project team management responsibility.
	Exposure to both product engineering and manufacturing operations
	Work history should demonstrate problem solving and business decision making, presentational ability
