I.T. Project Manager 3

General Purpose of Position:

Leads project teams in defining, planning, and implementing new projects to achieve specific business objectives.  Analyzes project needs, establishes a project management strategy, and recommends the appropriate level of planning, scheduling and control.   Implements a project management system that meets the customer needs.  Manages the development, execution, updating and reporting of project plans and schedules.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop complex program Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).

bullet

Establishes organization-wide project management strategies.

bullet

Conducts complex program and project management assessments.

bullet

Exhibits strong leadership skills and leads project teams.

bullet

Manages the integration of project management within an organization resulting in culture change.

bullet

Develops project management training classes and programs.

bullet

Identifies new business opportunities.

 Skills and Abilities:

bullet

Proficient written and oral communication skills.

bullet

Knowledgeable of cost/integrated scheduling and can perform Earned Value Analysis.

bullet

Identifies and recommends project management tools.

bullet

Identifies risk, provides analysis and contingency planning.

Education and/or Training:

bullet

Bachelor’s degree and/or 7 years equivalent work experience.

bullet

PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

bullet

Minimum of 7 years Project Management experience.

bullet

Minimum of 5 years business/industry knowledge.

bullet

Minimum of 3 years experience with Project Management Systems/Applications.

bullet

Minimum of 3 years experience in information technology.
