Summary of Duties and
Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of this position is
to analyze, model, and architect Data Warehouse solutions and Data Marts to meet
the information needs of the client in the most efficient manner. An associate
will be responsible for developing a scaleable Data Warehouse architecture
and/or Data Marts to accommodate business change and growth. The architect will
lead the business intelligence team in developing the architected solution.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
 | Lead the effort of
designing, modeling, and implementing an optimal Data Warehouse and/or Data
Mart architecture that meets the information needs of the business.
|
| Assess and propose
solutions to improve the architecture of the data warehouse and/or Data Mart
to change with business need. |
| Utilize
best practices in designs of data model and ETL processes. |
| Assist
in the development of standards to ensure data quality. |
| Assist
with database performance tuning and capacity planning.
|
|
Participate in industry networks to ensure awareness of trends and best
practices to strengthen organizational and technical knowledge in regards to
business intelligence. |
|
Experience with Cognos 8.0 BI suite. Able to administer, model, and
leverage the use of its analytical and reporting capabilities. |
Knowledge,
Skills, and Abilities:
|
A bachelor’s degree or relevant advanced degree in IT preferred.
|
|
8 or more years of related experience in data warehouse and data mart
architecting, designing, and modeling of data. |
|
5 or more years of proficiency with the Microsoft Analysis Services and DTS
development. Specific use of DTS in a business intelligence environment.
|
|
5 or more years of proficiency with the Cognos BI suite. |
|
Experience with relational and multi-dimensional (OLAP) data modeling.
Experience with a variety of data modeling tools.
|
|
Experience in ETL design and development.
Experience with a variety of ETL tools.
|
|
Knowledge of DB2 database, SQL, OLAP, and relational star and snowflake
schemas. |
|
Proficient in the use of SQL. |
|
Ability to configure and tune a Microsoft SQL server environment.
|
|
Working knowledge of Microsoft software (Project, Word, Excel, Outlook,
Visio). |
|
Proven technical leadership and project management skills. Ability to lead
with minimal management supervision. |
|
Outstanding interpersonal communication and
written skills, with the ability to work in a team environment. |
|
Ability to handle multiple tasks and
creatively approach situations. |
|
Ability to deal with stressful situations
in a composed and constructive manner. |
