Position Responsibilities:
|
Candidate will be involved from
"cradle to grave" aspects of the product.
Function as
the Lead Engineer for identified systems, including the
development and maintenance of the relevant design
manuals.
Lead
cross-functional project teams focused on developing and
launching moderately complex projects, including new customer
applications, and new technologies. Provide direction to
Design Detailers on the completion requirements for component
and harness detail drawings, and electrical schematics.
Develop an engineering bill-of-material that is complete,
accurate, and on-time.
Process
engineering changes based on approved change requests in a
timely manner. Coordinate design requirements, application
reviews and engineering releases with selected or potential
suppliers.
Identify and implement design improvement
projects directed at reducing cost and improving product
performance.
Complete moderately complex design analysis
for responsible systems.
Coordinate
component and system testing, including analysis of results and
participation in the testing, as required.
Demonstrate
moderate levels of problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Work
proactively to identify and resolve production/assembly
problems.
Direct involvement in the creation and
approval of Production Assembly Documents for responsible
systems. Coordinate product design information with other
affected departments (Sales, Purchasing, Scheduling, Production,
Customer Service) to assure customer requirements are met,
including support of customer/project teams.
Conduct regular supply base and
competitive analysis utilizing industry shows and technical
forums. Maintain project schedule/documentation as
directed by supervisor. Position located in Lansing, MI
area. |
