Cost Reductions.

Negotiate new contracts, as a result of competitive bidding. To review the renewal of standard contracts and/or the cancellation of contacts when necessary.

Determine product and/or service quality, comparability of like products or services, cost factors, varying warranties, specification requirements, vendor reliability and ability to deliver as scheduled, etc.

Purchase various goods, services and equipment as required for the divisions.

Establish and maintain relationships with existing suppliers. Investigate, and when appropriate, develop relationships with new suppliers.

Evaluate the cost factors involved in engineering changes and provide input on the positive or negative effect on pricing.

Maintain all necessary records and information files pertaining to the quotation process. This includes requests for quotations, follow-up on outstanding quotes, analyzing competitive quotes, and recommending purchases.

Performs other related duties in connection with the above activities as required.
 

Bachelors degree in Business Administration or equivalent purchasing experience.

Solid P.C. skills (proficient in spreadsheet and word processing software).

Minimum 4 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement position - preferably within the automotive industry (additional experience is required if applicant does not have a Bachelors degree).

Ability to show increasing responsibility over time.

Soft Trim background desirable.
